“Marvin è un adattamento sensibile ed ispirato del romanzo autobiografico di Édouard Louis ‘Il caso Eddy Bellegueule’ che racconta la crescita ed il difficile coming out di un giovane gay in un villaggio rurale dei Vosgi. La pellicola diretta da Anne Fontaine tratteggia il percorso di questo ragazzo, da adolescente bullizzato a scuola e vessato a casa ad artista sicuro di sé ed in grado di trasformare la propria storia in una esperienza artistica catartica ed ispirata. Sia il giovanissimo Jules Porier che Finnegan Oldfield forniscono un’interpretazione eccellente di Marvin in momenti differenti della sua vita, in un film che è tanto toccante quanto avvincente.” (Brian Robinson, presidente di giuria)
La cerimonia di premiazione si svolgerà venerdì 08 settembre dalle ore 18:00 presso la Villa degli Autori, sede delle Giornate degli Autori, lungomare Marconi 56, Lido di Venezia.

“Marvin is a beautiful and sensitive adaptation of an autobiographical novel by Edouard Louis, Reinventing Marvin, which charts the difficult coming of age and coming out of a young gay man in a rural village in the Vosges. The film, directed by Anne Fontaine, charts the journey of a teenage gay man, bullied at school and abused at home, who is able to become a confident, creative artist by using his own story to create art that is cathartic, inspiring and transforming. The performances of both Jules Porier and Finnegan Oldfield are outstanding as portrayals of Marvin at different stages of development in a film which is both profoundly moving and entertaining.” (Brian Robinson, president of the jury)
